Free Training Resources for Long-term Care Educators

The following pages provide free adult abuse and neglect prevention training materials as well as other valuable training materials as part of a three-year grant project.  BEAM provides these materials in cooperation with the Michigan State University and the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging through the Michigan Department of Community Health Grant No. * 11-P-93042/5-01 awarded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

These highly interactive, adult learning-based trainings focus on actively creating person- and relationship-centered individuals and organizations.  By learning to care for ourselves, our clients and co-workers, we can effectively address issues that could otherwise lead to abusive situations. These sessions teach techniques to improve our personal and professional lives.

Use Requirements:  All materials are made possible through a federal grant and are available for use by educators and presenters at no cost.

Source of materials must be identified at each training session utilizing these materials in full or part. Material credits are included on the last slide of each Power Point-based module.

Facilitated training sessions with qualified trainers are available on a fee-for-service basis. Contact BEAM for more information on fee-for-service training.
